My brother Ben made a few 3D models exploring what was possible with Star Trek technology.
If you have comments or feedback, feel free to leave it here. If you'd like to commission a custom 3D model, I can help you with that. All prompts used with the Midjourney AI model.
The three original NLES images:
Midjourney was able to provide quite a few helpful prompts, and I added a few of my own. The Niji model seems to work well for mechs and tech like this, so that's what I used.
Prompt:
white and blue futuristic robot waiting near a street with some cars, metafictional, streetscape, dramatic lighting, low angle --niji 5 --q .5
A second version, with a bit of yellow for warmth.
Prompt:
white and blue futuristic robot waiting near a yellow street with some cars, metafictional, streetscape, dramatic lighting, low angle --niji 5 --q .5
The second original image is supposed to be a recruiting poster, but Midjourney wasn't able to do it in a single step.
Prompt:
white and blue futuristic robot leaning against a wall, in the style of military recruiting poster, metafictional, dynamic pose --niji 5 --q .5 --ar 3:5
So instead I just had it generate a poster layout
Prompt:
white and blue military recruiting poster, striking graphic design --niji 5 --q .5 --ar 3:5
Then I composited the two images on top of eachother. Worked out pretty well!
No idea why that guy at the bottom is holding his gun backward though.
I had a lot of trouble getting a spaceship launching from a station in the side of a mountain. At first Midjourney thought it was a train station, but then the spaceship kept turning into a train. Turns out there is a ton of "train station" images in Anime, so if you even gesture in that direction the train aspects will overwhelm the image.
Prompt:
a white and blue space vehicle is launching from a futuristic train station in an asteroid, transportcore, contemporary metallurgy, pseudo-infrared, machine aesthetics --niji 5 --q .5 --ar 5:3
So I specified "--no trains" and leaned more into the mountain aspects.
Prompt:
a white and blue space vehicle is departing a futuristic station, mountain rocks background, transportcore, contemporary metallurgy, machine aesthetics --no trains --niji 5 --q .5 --ar 5:3
I tried to get it to be "underground" but the blue open sky is too attractive for it to stick.
Prompt:
a white and blue space vehicle is departing a futuristic underground station, mountain rocks background, transportcore, contemporary metallurgy, machine aesthetics --no trains --niji 5 --q .5 --ar 5:3
So I just told it "no sky either" but this seems to have given the "space vehicle" wheels.
Prompt:
a white and blue space vehicle is departing a futuristic underground train station, mountain rocks background, transportcore, contemporary metallurgy, machine aesthetics --no trains, sky --niji 5 --q .5 --ar 5:3
Made sure to specify the vehicle is "flying" and re-arranged some elements, but we've now lost the natural rock aspect.
Prompt:
a flying white and blue space vehicle is departing, futuristic underground mountain train station background, futuristic complex maglev rails, bay alpha, transportcore, contemporary metallurgy, machine aesthetics --no trains, sky --niji 5 --q .5 --ar 5:3
Added "rock" back in, along with "contrasting artificial and natural elements" which seems to have done the trick.
Prompt:
a flying white and blue space vehicle is departing, futuristic underground mountain rocks train station background, futuristic complex maglev rails, bay alpha, transportcore, contemporary metallurgy, machine aesthetics, contrasting artificial and natural elements --no trains, sky --niji 5 --q .5 --ar 5:3
Happy with how that turned out, so I just bumped up the quality.
Prompt:
a flying white and blue space vehicle is departing, futuristic underground mountain rocks train station background, futuristic complex maglev rails, bay alpha, transportcore, contemporary metallurgy, machine aesthetics, contrasting artificial and natural elements --no trains, sky --niji 5 --q 1.5 --ar 5:3
Would have been nice to be able to get the compositional elements of the ship flying out of the mountainside, but I'm happy enough with how this turned out.
