Sunrise on a road over the mountains and a stream.
This is an enlivened version of one of my old cg pictures.
It was originally a picture I whipped out as a "see you around" message for my brothers when I left for the summer to work at my uncle's. Some day, perhaps, I'll re-work it, but for now here it is in slightly-less-garbage-o-vision.
Cliffside Road. This picture is vaguely based on a recurring dream I had when I was little. The cliff texture didn't work as well as I would have liked, but overall I'm pleased with it.
Re-leveled and cropped version of the old lava road picture below
Valley Of The Spire, a broad idyllic valley
In-spired by a sketch I did a while ago, recently found on my borther's computer just before he re-formatted his hard drive. At some point I may do several other views. Still one of my favorite pictures of anything anywhere. Kind of makes the beautiful part of my soul ache.
Not quite as perfect as I had imagined it, but not too bad. The edge of the road is (as always) a problem. I may add some stones and stuff at some point. I'd also like to add the little flowers in the foreground.
EDIT: 2007-04-15
Added butterflies and clouds. Also increased the glare. There is now a little hill in the background, and another spire off in the distance. Much better!
vots Sketch, This sketch was done with an automatic pencil on a scrap of paper, scanned into my brother's computer, and forgotten. Recently unearthed while he was looking for stuff to back up before reformatting.
Lava Road. This picture never really turned out the way I wanted it to. I'd like to re-do it some time, with spires and lavaflows. This version just doesn't have the dimension I wanted.
I imagined that the cliff road led to this road in the mountainside, and then the stairs at the end of this picture led up to the sunrise road. Maybe I'll make a mushroom game style interactive image sequence at some point. But for now, it remains an implication only.
Cliff Road old. This is basically the same as the "new" version, but before I did the color ramp and bloom effects.
This picture started out as a little scene I made for my brothers when I left for the summer for the first time. When I got back I kept developing it to this point. I'd say it took about fifty different changes before it was really decent, and even now there are a lot of improvements that could be made. I don't think I'll change it though, this was the very best I could do at the time, and I think it's a good reminder of where I've come from.
