Script for generating machine objects and assemblies.
I've been thinking about this one for a while, so I started work on it. Currently there are a few parts that can be assembled in various ways. I'm hoping to add more as time goes on, perhaps allow it to create large complex assemblies. At this point the goal is merely machine-like objects, instead of automatically designing useful machines themselves.
If you have comments or feedback, feel free to leave it here. If you'd like to commission a custom 3D model, I can help you with that.
I got as far as making a gear-style blender geometry nodes thing.
I also made a video about a few ways you can use this technique:
Sorry there's no download for this one. It ended up being a complicated mess of interconnected files and I never bothered untangling them. Maybe I'll eventually get back to this and make some sort of general-purpose industrial mechanical geometry generator.
Updated gearcloud, now with proper meshing and gear collision detection
Bunch of gears
Some sort of pressure vessel. Presumably for holding steam? Or perhaps... punk?
A bunch of Steampunk machine reference art I've collected as inspiration for this project.
