Metal Dice

Using a milling machine, I managed to manufacture some dice made of stainless steel.

I occasionally do handyman work along with other physical products. If you'd like to commission a custom build, I can help you with that.

A pair of D4 spherical dice.

Spherical D4. An unusual geometry for a four sided die. Made from a ball bearing, with a ball-end mill cut for the faces. This D4 rolls much better than a normal tetrahedral one, which is to say, it rolls at all!

Spherical D6. An unusual geometry for a six sided die. Made from a ball bearing, with a ball-end mill cut for the faces. This D6 rolls better than a normal cube one.

Dice Collection. A few of my metal dice alongside conventional polyhedral dice. The ball bearing ones are much smaller than the normal ones, but that could be easily remedied by simply making bigger ones!

Tumbler Formed D12. This used to be a ball bearing, before it was used in a ball mill for some decades. The constant impacts formed it into this perfect dodecahedron! All I did was add the number engraving.

This is the first metal die I made. A conventional D6 made from solid 316 stainless steel.

21 metal dice, ready to roll! f I need to roll more than 21d6 damage, something has gone horribly right. I don't actually have all of them any more, as I've been slowly giving them away to friends.
They are all made of surgical grade 316 Stainless Steel, and suitable for rolling damage with scalpels.

Lots of those metal dice.

This is a die I made from 316 stainless steel. I've wanted a metal die for a while now, and the shop I work at has all the equipment to make one.

Another picture of the die I made. It has a comforting weight, and sharp multi-purpose corners.

I eschewed the conventional pip arrangement in favor of this radial pattern.
